Life Journaling

To help create space in our busy lives for God, grab a pen, your Bible, and a blank notebook or journal and begin to experience The Word in your life (John 1:1-4).

S
Scripture
Open your Bible and read the passage for today like it was written for you. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you.
When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you today, and write it in your journal.

Observe
What is going on in the passage? What does God want you to chew on? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and give insight. List your observations in your journal.

Apply
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, a new promise or correction for a particular area of your life. Write how the Holy Spirit is guiding your steps today.

Pray
Prayer is a two way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say in his Word and then respond. This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Write down some of the key parts of your prayer.
